In response to a request by a local home builder, the city council of Alpharetta, GA has approved the sale of a 35.9-acre parcel of ‘unbuildable’ city-owned wetlands.

The wetlands property was donated to the city of Alpharetta in the 1980s, and it has not ever been used. Alpharetta-based Hovis Homes owns a 45-acre land plot next to the wetlands, and the company plans to use its purchase as a sanitary sewer easement for its existing property’s utility service.

The sale price for the city land is $35,000.
