Lita Dirks & Co., an award-winning interior design and model merchandising company, has joined with BUILDER and Taylor Morrison to produce the BUILDER Taylor Morrison NEXTadventure Home. Architect, Deryl Patterson with Housing Design Matters, is the architect for this exciting venture.
“We are beyond thrilled to have been chosen as interior designer for the NEXTadventure Home and are looking forward to the amazing opportunity to collaborate with BUILDER, Taylor Morrison and Housing Design Matters, all highly-respected professionals in our industry,” states Lita Dirks, CEO and owner of Lita Dirks & Co, and long-time expert in merchandising to the 55+ buyer. “As the 55+ market continues to thrive, we want to showcase that their ‘next adventure’ in life is filled with excitement, energy and entertainment!”
In a recent NAHB survey, “Housing Preferences of the Boomer Generation: How They Compare to Other Home Buyers,” the leading two reasons that motivate boomers to move are finding greater peace of mind and a fuller life. Lita Dirks & Co. will be addressing these needs with their philosophy that great design is developed through demographic research, robust collaboration, out-of-the-box thinking and the ability to create design that emotionally connects with people.
“These buyers want a dramatic kitchen to show off because it’s a true representation of who they are and the past time of hosting and entertaining that is becoming pivotal in their lives,” said Dirks.
Another unique aspect of the selection of Lita Dirks & Co. for this project is that the builder, architect and interior designer are all managed by women – Lita Dirks as CEO of Lita Dirks & Co., Deryl Patterson is president and CEO with Housing Design Matters; and Sheryl Palmer who is president and CEO at Taylor Morrison.
“I’m so happy to see such a high profile project being represented by these exemplary women,” said Carole Jones, CAPS, CGB, CGP, NAHB’s Professional Women in Building 2015 chair, and licensed builder and associate broker from Bloomfield Hills, Mich. “This is another true example of how the presence and influence of women is growing in the construction industry.
“I am very excited and pleased to be working with a company that has so much experience and knowledge about the 55-plus buyer,” said Patterson, who also currently serves on the board of the NAHB 55-Plus Council. “We have really focused the architectural design on the features to cater to this buyer and I know Lita and her team will add a new dimension to that with their interior design excellence.”
