Standard Pacific Homes (NYSE:SPF) said late Monday it would open two new communities, Weddington Trace and Chapel Cove, in the Charlotte N.C. market on Saturday, May 28.

Chapel Cove, located on the shores of Lake Wylie, features wooded homesites on a lakefront setting. Both ranch and two-story home designs will be available, ranging from 2,600 to more than 4,000 square feet, on one-half to one-acre lots and priced from just the $290,000s.

The home designs feature gourmet kitchens with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, double ovens and maple cabinets as well as side-entry and optional third car garages. The community preserves existing hardwoods and Carolina pines, with walking trails and pocket parks. Four homes have sold in the past three weeks, the company said.

Weddington Trace, in Union County, offers two new collections of home designs starting from the $250,000s (Preserve and Estate). Homes range from 2,600 to over 4,000 square feet and are located on large homesites and cul de sac streets. Large kitchens include islands, granite countertops and tile backsplash, as well as optional deluxe gourmet upgrades. They feature his and hers walk-in closets and storage, including unfinished attics. The community has a clubhouse, tennis courts, pool and playground. It is located in the top-rated Union County Public Schools district.

The companuy will hold grand opening celebrations at both communities on Saturday, May 28 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
