The Barn Cabins at Martis Camp offer all the rustic charm one would expect in a Lake Tahoe vacation community. The gas fireplace on this broad porch is clad in Corten corrugated steel and reclaimed cedar with a base of Wyoming ledge stone. To complete the picture, architect John Sather designed a signature “Martis camp chair” for fireside lounging. “It has very wide arms and a somewhat whimsical scale to it. You can put a plate of food and a drink on the arm and just enjoy yourself rocking away,” he says.
