March New-Home Sales Up 7.32 Percent

WASHINGTON, April 25, 2003 (Hanley-Wood News Service) ? Single-family new-home sales shot up 7.32 percent in March to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,012,000, according to figures released by the Census Bureau this morning. The increase is 10.6 percent higher than the March 2002 rate of 915,000.

Median new-home prices rose 1.79 percent to $182,000 in March, while existing home prices went up 1.12 percent from February’s revised rate to $163,100.
