Going green? Everyone’s doin’ it!

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recently recognized Earth Day, touting that many of today’s industry standards were perhaps considered cutting-edge and “green building” just 20 years ago.

So, who is the greenest? EcoHome’s staff recently analyzed carbon dioxide emissions and the number of green homes on the market to rank the top 10 cities with the greenest homes. The nation’s capital tops the list with the most LEED-certified space.

Let’s not forget the home builders themselves! In the last 20 years, we’ve seen businesses go green, too. Architecture giant Frank Gehry’s Gehry Technologies recently created a digital collaboration system essentially eliminating paper from architecture.
