Dream houses tend to share features in common. So, what are the features that best-selling homes have that slower-to-move places don't? Realtor.com staffer Yuqing Pan and her team crunched their database and point out six particular traits that are noted and promoted among most popular (clicked and sold) homes in the market.
Pan and her colleagues looked at listing records on the website for the past three months, and evaluated them by two metrics: the number of days each home stays on the market, and the number of page views each listing receives from home shoppers.
Here are the six features fueling the popularity of a home:
- The Spanish reign supreme
- A view of a city skyline
- Stainless steel appliances
- A good school nearby
- A small but practical size between 1,500 and 2,00 sq.ft.
- A reasonable price between $200,000 and $250,000
