Mattamy Homes announces industry leader Subhi Alsayed has joined the home builder as vice president of sustainable development.

In this role, Subhi will work with the company's leadership team to investigate and implement strategies for sustainable development. Subhi has over 20 years of experience in Canada and internationally, and has been dubbed an expert in sustainable, net zero, and resilient design, as well as a leader in tech and marketing innovation.

"Throughout his career, Subhi has focused on building strong business cases for change, and finding innovative ways of introducing and 'de-risking' new methods and technologies," said Peter Gilgan, founder & CEO of Mattamy Homes in a release. "His extensive technical and business skills and varied background will serve Mattamy well as we embark on an exciting journey to position ourselves as an innovator and industry leader in sustainable development."

Prior to accepting the role, Subhi was the innovation manager for the Tridel Corporation in Canada, as well as the director of projects with Tower Labs @ MaRs, Tridel's non-profit for accelerating the adoption of green-building technology and practices. He also co-founded netZED, the first branded net zero energy concept in high-rise living.
