Earlier this summer, Home Innovation Research Labs recognized 30 of its National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Green Partners for outstanding contributions to advancing green building in their communities and commitment to voluntary, market-driven, third-party certification of high-performance homes. The 2013–14 Home Innovation NGBS Green Partners of Excellence include nine residential building companies, six accredited verifiers, three architectural firms, and six exemplary program advocates from across the country. This year Home Innovation also recognized six “Rising Stars” in the NGBS Green Certification Program.
“‘Going Green’ was a logical path for building professionals to follow when the market was in decline and everyone was looking for something to set themselves apart and get the sale,” said Home Innovation Research Labs president and CEO Michael Luzier. “But now that the market is coming back, dedicated partners like these prove that participating in our rigorous third-party certification program isn’t just a gimmick or a fad—it’s a strategic business decision that is paying dividends and changing the marketplace.”
The Partners of Excellence awards provide an opportunity for Home Innovation Research Labs to recognize the leadership, innovation, and excellence of its NGBS Green Certification Program partners and other champions of credible green building in the residential sector. The builders and remodelers who were honored this year are:
Builders & Remodelers:
• Alliance Residential; Phoenix
• C.F. Evans; Orangeburg, S.C.
• Door Creek Construction; East Dundee, Ill.
• Gables Residential; Atlanta
• Morgan Group Development; Houston
• Paul Allen Homes; Albuquerque, N.M.
• Reybold Development Corp.; Bear, Del.
• The Snyder Cos.; Shelburne, Vt.
