According to ZipRealty, Inc., (a residential real estate brokerage firm and marketing solutions provider) California is the place to be if you're selling a home in 2014.
Using housing market data of 24 metro areas nationwide over the past year, and evenly weighing three housing metrics for each, ZipRealty compiled a list of the Top 10 Best Cities for Home Sellers in 2014. The full list reveals that the western region of the United States did much better compared to the rest of the country in 2013:

3. San Diego, Calif.
4. Las Vegas, Nev.
5. Orange County, Calif.
6. Los Angeles, Calif.
7. Dallas, Texas
8. Houston, Texas
9. Washington, DC/Northern Va.
10. Chicago, Ill.
