According to CoreLogic’s January 2014 Home Price Index (HPI) report (figures include short sales as well as real estate owned transactions), U.S. home prices increased 12 percent compared to January 2013, and 0.9 percent compared to December. January's report marks the 23rd consecutive month where home prices increased on a year-over-year basis.
The only state to post home price depreciation (including stressed sales) in January was Mississippi (-0.3 percent).
CoreLogic February forecast: home prices (including distressed sales) will increase about 0.7 percent in February compared to January.
No states (excluding distressed sales) posted home price depreciation in January.
