Lennar Corp. has given a 2,200 square foot home to a wounded veteran and his family.

Lennar Homes has completed a free, wheelchair-accessible home in St. Johns County, Fla., specially designed for wounded Marine Cpl. Chris Natto and his family.

“We’ve been living with my in-laws the last month,” said Natto, who was paralyzed in a parachute training accident in February. “Going from a hospital to a home setting brings to mind how inaccessible some places are for a wheelchair.”

The Natto family’s 2,500 square-foot home is outfitted with wheelchair-accessible utilities and design, including lowered counters and sinks, a lowered bed, and wheelchair ramps.

“We tried to think of everything. We opened doors, widened the bathroom, so he can be there for his son,” said Matt Deveraux of Lennar Homes.
