Traditions of America's approach to maintenance-free active adult living has long been popular with senior buyers in its Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey market. The builder's "Live Better" motto encompasses a fun, resort-style lifestyle without the maintenance associated with traditional homeownership.
But this summer, sales associates saw a rush of buyers like never before. At a recent pre-sales event at Traditions of America at Summer Seat, sales associates could hardly keep up with customers selecting home sites in the community in Ohio Township, Pa. Even though they're not yet built, 39 buyers purchased homes in 45 minutes, says Nathan Jameson, a Traditions of America partner. The first homes in the 55+ age-qualified community are expected to be ready next spring.
”We were blown away by the positive response,” says Jameson. “Pittsburgh home buyers are proving there is strong demand for the combination of thoughtful single-level floor plans and our dynamic Live Better lifestyle.” He also attributed the success to the fact that more adults are opting for active adult communities compared to traditional retirement housing.
The sales event was the culmination of three informational sessions held over the summer that generated even more interest than was originally anticipated. More than 300 prospective home buyers who attended informational sessions were invited back for the Pre-Sales Event, where each buyer received pre-construction pricing and priority option to select their homesite. Then, in order of priority numbers, buyers placed stickers on an oversized map of the community and claimed their future homes.
Summer Seat will include 133 single-family and garden-style one-level homes with prices starting in the upper $200s. Amenities will include a 4,500-square-foot clubhouse with fitness area and sports bar.
