Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Co. announced Monday it has appointed Andy Warren to the post of president of Maracay Homes in Phoenix, Ariz., effective April 27.

Warren, a 25-year veteran of the residential construction industry, returns to WRECO after five years as partner and chief operating officer of EYA, a private builder-developer in Bethesda, Md. Before that, Warren was with WRECO's Winchester Homes in the Washington, D.C., metro area for 16 years in a variety of positions up to executive vp.

Warren succeeds Dale Sowell, WRECO's senior vp of finance and administration, who held the post on an interim basis since David Bessey left the company at the end of 2008. Sowell retains his coporate post.

"Throughout his career, Andy has achieved stretch operating results, created team environments, developed and grown people, led change and improvement efforts, and realized visions for a customer-focused company," said Larry Burrows, president of WRECO. "Having previously worked with Andy for many years, I'm confident in his abilities to manage Maracay through the current difficult time and successfully position the company for the future."

Warren holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University and holds an MBA from George Washington University.
