John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods began in the 1970s when founder John Wieland started the business using his Volkswagen Beetle as his office and delivery truck. Now, 45 years later, the firm is a cornerstone of the Atlanta-area new home market.
Its first model home opened in 1973 with a retail price of $5,000, and the company established itself as an industry leader, introducing Atlanta’s first New Home Design Center, popularizing new sun room and spa bath designs, and building a number of iconic design concept houses including The New American Home in both 1989 and 2002 and House Beautiful magazine’s “House of the ‘90s”. Constant innovation paired with a focused commitment to excellence in quality and service also brought the industry’s highest honors including National Builder of the Year, the National Housing Quality Awards, and America’s Best Builder.
To celebrate its 45 years in the industry, John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods is giving buyers $4,500 to use toward a new home through June 15.
Today, with more than 30,000 John Wieland homeowners across the Southeast, the company continues to cater to move-up home buyers in 40 neighborhoods in Atlanta; Charleston, S.C.; Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C. and Nashville, Tenn., with prices ranging from $200,000 to more than $1 million. It ranks No. 68 on BUILDER's 2015 list of the top 100 building firms in the country, moving up 11 spots from the year before. More than a dozen new John Wieland neighborhoods are planned for introduction in 2015, the company says.
