By BUILDER Magazine Staff. Builder and developer LandMar Group, in Jacksonville, Fla., celebrated the "Season of Giving," from Saturday, Nov. 9 to Sunday, Nov. 24, by collecting food for needy families with children in cooperation with the Monique Burr Foundation for Children and the Children's Crisis Center.

LandMar gathered the non-perishables from visitors to its North Hampton, South Hampton, and Hampton Park communities in Jacksonville.

Those giving also received. Thank-you gifts included "Member for the Day" golf passes to all area Hampton golf courses; an invitation to Sunday brunch held at the various communities on Nov. 10, 17, or 24; and discount certificates for food and beverages at the North and South Hampton Golf Clubs. In addition, those donating food were eligible to win a grand prize $2,500 shopping spree to the local mall of their choice just in time for the holidays.

LandMar president and CEO Ed Burr founded the Monique Burr Foundation for Children in memory of his wife who died in an automobile accident in 1996. He established the foundation to continue Monique Burr's vision for helping children in need. The foundation funds playgrounds and programs including scholarship programs and the Monique Burr Safety Net. It also partners with agencies, such as the Children's Crisis Center, Fresh Ministries, and the All Saints Early Learning Center.
