Pulte Homes' board of directors appointed Michael J. Schweninger as vice president and controller on Tuesday, Feb. 10. He will replace Vincent J. Frees, who announced this week that he plans to retire on March 2.

Schweninger, 40, went to work for Pulte in November 2005 as director of corporate audit. Most recently, he served as director of finance and accounting process improvement.

Prior to joining Pulte, Schweninger served as director of audit and special projects for TriMas Corp. from January 2004 to November 2005. Before that, he was the director of Transaction Advisory Services Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers from May 2002 to January 2004.

Schweninger will be paid an annual base salary of $250,000. He will also be eligible for the company's senior management incentive plan that gives him a 2008 target award of 60% of his base salary under two incentive programs, one short-term and the other longer-term.
