By Loretta Williams. JOHN BARROWS is president of J. Barrows, a Cazenovia, N.Y.-based company that specializes in new-home construction, remodeling, historic renovation, and light commercial construction. Barrows also serves as a consultant to the building industry.

ERIC BROWN, president of Artisan Homes of Phoenix, has been consulted by various television news shows and newspaper publications on real estate trends and topics. Brown has been in the home building industry since 1979. His company develops single-family, multifamily, and mixed-use developments and loft projects.

JULIE BULLOCK is a principal with Columbus, Ohio-based architectural firm Behal Sampson Dietz. With the firm since 1990, she has been active with the Historical Commission in Columbus on such projects as the Victorian Village, the Downtown District, and German Village. The firm also specializes in residential design/build, and light commercial construction.

STEVE JAMES is principal and director of community design for Boulder, Colo.-based Downing, Thorpe & James, an architectural and consulting firm. James has more than 20 years experience in master planning, site and landscape design, and noteworthy knowledge in hillside cluster developments and mixed-use village centers.

Builder ROB SELL serves as director of marketing, sales, and production design for Village Homes, a company he co-founded with two other partners in 1996. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, the company builds around 30 homes per year. Rob began his home building career in 1995 as a construction superintendent for Newmark Home Corp.

STAINES began L&M Design this year with partner and architect Michael Giardino. With 40 years combined experience, their firm offers architectural services for mixed-use, multifamily, and commercial developments. Based in Radnor, Pa., their firm offers services to developers on the East Coast and the Midwest. STEVE STROUB is president of the Sausalito, Calif.-based Stroub Construction. Stroub's company specializes in remodeling and high-end custom homes. Stroub began his company with brother Robert, and one other partner in 1983. The company does business primarily in San Francisco and southern Marin County.

TODD WALKER is a founding partner of Archimania Architects based in Memphis, Tenn. Walker studied abroad at the University of London before forming the firm in 1995. Archimania specializes in architectural, planning, and interior design services. His award-winning project Hannah's House will be featured on HGTV-Dreambuilders in January 2003.
