Trend 4: Steel the One

No matter if the home is starter or move-up, stainless steel finishes remain in high demand from high-end wall ovens to entry-level ranges. Sound familiar? Demand for stainless shows no signs of slowing. Customers continue to cling to the material’s neutrality, sleek look, and commercial feel, and the finish is prevalent in all appliance categories. “We don’t see any softening in the trend of stainless steel at all,” says Sue Carlson, director of marketing for appliance manufacturer Dacor. And even with some new appliances coming out in solid-color bold hues like cobalt blue and sunburst yellow, it’s not likely that stainless steel will fade from view anytime soon.

Wall to wall: Shown in Platinum stainless steel, this 36-inch, built-in wall oven features a dual convection system and a range of cooking modes. The unit’s rotating electronic control panel remains hidden when not in use. Two additional stainless steel finishes, Carbon and Classic, also are available. Range rover: The Quantum range hood combines a sleek, low-profile design with enough power to handle professional-grade ranges. The hood comes in 42-, 48-, 54-, and 66-inch lengths or in custom lengths. A bank of halogen lights illuminate the entire cooking surface. Abbaka. 800-548-3932. www.abbaka.com.
